The Workspace range, Paragon’s market leading carpet tile solution has been completely redeveloped for 2009, in joint technical partnership with Xentrys experts in sustainable yarn development. The ground up research and development programme has resulted in a modern, sustainable carpet tile solution the flooring market has not had access to previously.

 

Introducing The New Workspace range, developed using the latest sustainable PA6-Xeulex yarn containing a 10% recycled content. Development is already at an advanced stage to increase this recycled content further to 30%. Workspace is the only carpet tile product at such an advanced stage of sustainable yarn development in the market to date.

 

The range has been engineered at every step to provide the maximum environmental benefits throughout the manufacturing process. To ensure no environmental benefits are lost further down the production line; all manufacturing is in-house removing transport pollution. One hundred percent of yarn waste from manufacturing is recycled further reducing the products carbon footprint. By relying on ecologically sound energy sources, 18% of the electricity used to produce Workspace is provided from renewable sources.

 

Paragon holds full ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO9001:2000 accreditation and therefore strives to constantly improve the environmental aspects of the Workspace range at its modern Yorkshire facilities. As a result of this continued development Workspace has achieved the acclaimed BRE “A” rating meaning Workspace products have a rating of excellent or low lifecycle impact on the environment.
