Paragon Carpets welcome a new addition to the London Team in Amber Gilbert. Amber will cover the South East and South London alongside her London Team colleagues with the task of pushing the Paragon brand into the contractor and specifier markets.

Amber comes from good flooring stock ! with her parents and brother Dan all involved in the flooring trade it’s a cert that flooring is in Amber’s blood… as well as plumbing something this multi-talented Area Manager also specialises in!

Amber relaxes through motherhood and in her spare time runs a charity aiding the homeless in her locality.

Today we put Amber ‘Under The Microscope’ to give you a brief look into the thoughts and experiences of a Paragon Area Manager.

 

Q1 Did you ever get into trouble at school and if so why?
Never. My mother worked at the school.

Q2 What was your first part time job?
A Saturday cleaner in an independent opticians.

Q3 What did you spend your first paycheck on ?
Tools

Q4 What was your first full time job?
Kitchen and bathroom salesperson at B&Q

Q5 What was the best piece of advise you have been given ?
Treat people as you expect to be treated.

Q6 What was your worst business mistake?
Trusting the wrong the people.

Q6 What was your greatest business achievement ?
Progressing my career

Q7 What car do you drive today and what does it say about you ?
Vauxhall insignia , it’s a company car!

Q8 If you could have invented any product what would it have been?
Camera

Q9 What do you most like about the flooring industry?
Design Aspects of the industry

Delays

Roger oats, Design-led manufacturer with unusual products

Q13 Where should we have a flooring trade show and why?
Hop farm Tonbridge. My whole family are in the flooring industry and I remember as a child going to flooring shows there. Kids played adults worked. (first time this has location has ever been mentioned! – ed)

Yes 1 dog 2 rabbits

Q16 Do you have any hobbies?
I run an organisation to help the Homeless

Q17 – How do you relax?
Being a Mother

Malibu with lemonade.

Q19  How many times a year do you take a holiday and what is your favourite destination?
Twice a year. France

Q20 – What is your idea of heaven?
Surrounded by my family, warm weather and lots of cake.

Being left on my own somewhere.

Now 79 and the three witches

A fireman to get me out.
