Well the reality of most commercial photoshoots is far from 1930s cool! They are actually very long hours and real hard graft. The logistics and props alone on most basic sets are enough to cause a migraine or two. However the real skill is behind the camera, making the ordinary look extravagant and in many cases the small look to a larger scale.
As is with carpet tile shoots, you often work within a confined space but need to appear to show 50sqm of product with furniture and props. How do we do this .. you ask? Normally through a little marketing trickery! Shift camera lenses can give the illusion of depth and width at the same time making your image stretch of into the distance, while dramatic furniture can provide an interest piece.
In recent years the use of rendering can also be used to superb effect to add in lighting and interesting artwork to make your set appear full of life.
